Education
Bicycle Safety Education Collaboration WE BIKE President, Peter Flucke, is currently coordinating a bicycle safety education project for the Safe Community Coalition of Madison and Dane County, Wisconsin. The purpose of the grant, through the Dane County Executive's office and funded by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, is to improve traffic safety in rural and urban areas where bicyclists and motorists share the road.
WE BIKE will work with a
broad-based partnership of law enforcement, bicycling and traffic
safety advocates and local officials to conduct this project.
Project activities include development of public service
announcements; bicycle safety education for middle school
students, children just learning to ride, and adult cyclists as well
as law enforcement training for and overtime grants to local law
enforcement agencies.

"We've had the great pleasure of working
with Peter Flucke of WeBIKE on a local bicycle safety collaboration in
Dane County, Wisconsin. Peter's focus is getting the work done well and
meeting his client's objectives, stated and unstated. He has a capacity
to bridge cultures in our case, that of the bicycling community and law
enforcement and to bring about effective change.
Peter is an asset to any bicycling safety
effort."
